Engicon convened its biannual company retreat in Amman, Jordan. The event brought together the firm's leading engineering teams for updates on Engicon's status and trajectory, along with focused working sessions aimed at strengthening project delivery across disciplines.
During the event, CEO Tarek Zuriekat outlined Engicon's direction for accelerated regional growth across the MENA region. He highlighted the company's expanding footprint, including a newly staffed office in Cairo, positioned to support Engicon's continued momentum in key markets.
The CEO also spoke about horizontal strategic investments in highly focused firms, describing them as a deliberate approach to strengthening Engicon's expertise in specific disciplines while enhancing overall service delivery. The investments are intended to deepen specialist capabilities and expand Engicon's ability to deliver integrated solutions across a wider range of client needs.
He further emphasized the practical business impact of consistent customer relations, framing it as a long-term driver of repeat work and new opportunities. A central theme of the retreat was how the engineering consultancy landscape is shifting toward advanced tech-enabled services. Expert speakers shared perspectives on where clients are placing new value, and how consultancies can evolve their service offerings to match these expectations.
Lina Jaabari and Ahmad Al-Amad from Autodesk presented on the latest advancements in AI-powered design tools now available to practitioners, demonstrating integrated approaches to smart city planning and building design. Basel Uraiqat, CEO and Co-Founder of KONN, discussed how his company is reinventing the design and engineering approach to building more eco-friendly modular structures. Mahmoud Hendawi and Faris Abdallah from Engicon O&M presented on how their market is shifting toward Operations and Maintenance as a strategic driver of industrial sustainability — moving engineering services from a back-office function to a performance-linked business model.
Engicon's management also outlined plans to leverage emerging technologies to strengthen the company's operations, maintenance services, and delivery of training and capacity building in complex projects.
The retreat included a workshop format spanning specialized teams, creating space for structured discussions around ongoing projects and concrete ways to enhance delivery.
